I am a researcher passionate about understanding present and past human activities, and material culture. I am curious and open to new experiences, which brought me to work, and live, in Europe, Asia and Africa. Working with people and having a positive impact on people, is what I like and I value most.

Supported several international organisations in building out a formalized research practice in the area of present and past human activities and material culture.

  • Advised and worked cross functionally with PM, scientists, archaeologists and other stakeholders.

  • Developed insights and recommendations to recognise and prioritize research opportunities, and to allow data-driven plans for further steps.

  • Conducted contextual fieldworks, unstructured interviews, data analysis, scientific methodologies for material characterisation, triangulation of data.

  • Supported ARCHES in the context of Knowledge4Innovation activities at the European Parliament, Brussels (2019-2021).

  • Organised unconferences about analytical methodologies (Sheffield, 2017-2016).      

  • Designed the information architecture of opencontext and loaded the database (2018-2016).

Explored LB Age commodity exchange in the Mediterranean Sea, revealing a new picture that has had implications for our understanding of the political relationships.

  • Defined and built out the research life cycle process (designing, planning, executing, and communicating research) for a big European project (COMEX, MSCA-IF, budget: 221,600€).

  • Conducted secondary research, unstructured interviews, targeted ethnography, contextual fieldworks, petrographic and chemical analyses, data analyses; triangulation of data.

  • Planned technical strategies with cross-functional teams (scientists, archaeologists, and other stakeholders) and oversaw external collaborators.

The Hashemite University, Jordan

Explored Jordanian mortars production techniques by conducting field visits and analyses and developed a new protocol for mortar analysis in the Arabic area.

  • Led the full research process (designing, planning, executing, and communicating research) for a big European project (NARNIA, MSCA-ITN, budget: 139,300€).

  • Conducted unstructured interviews, contextual fieldworks, contextual inquiries, data analysis, scientific methodologies for building material characterisation.

  • Collaborated with architects, research scientists, local authority, EU and other stakeholders to successfully complete the project.​
